Masham is a handsome North Yorkshire town at the gateway to Wensleydale. Our market received its first charter from Henry III in 1251, and the beautiful Georgian market place is Yorkshire's largest. Markets are held twice weekly throughout the year with plenty of special markets (see below). As you could see from the aerial view, we have plenty of space for stalls and visitors!

When to visit:

General market: Every Wednesday, Saturday and Bank Holiday Monday

Farmers Market: First Sunday of every month from April to October.

Special Markets 2018

  • 14th-15th April - Spring Market
  • 5th-7th May - Bank Holiday Market, with the Tour de Yorkshire cycle race passing through on Sunday 6th May
  • 2nd-3rd June - Summer Market
  • 21st-22nd July - weekend market to coincide with the 53rd Masham Steam Engine Rally
  • 1st-2nd September - Autumn Market
  • 29th-30th September - Masham Sheep Fair
